Welcome!

I'm new to blogspot but have thoroughly enjoyed my friends' sites on blogspot, so here goes! We're moving everything here and heretofore, we will be ourbrokencup.com.

We enjoyed a great visit from Sarah, Travis and Riley this weekend. Truly, Rowen is the best entertainment anyone could ask for, especially now that he's waddling around the house, but we did go out for a bit. We (over)ate at New Belmont and then visited with Frank and Katie. This morning we overate again, at IHOP. Interestingly, this is a recurring theme in my life.

Most of you know we have lived in Norfolk, Virginia for almost 2 years now and we bought a house almost a year ago in Historic Colonial Place nestled on the Elizabeth River. We really love our neighborhood and I especially am completely in love with our house. Having been built in 1919, the house in always in need of some major project, but I'm learning to be patient and content with things the way they are. Anyway, I never really posted pictures of the whole house and thought you might enjoy.

Couple o' questions for blogspot pros...

  1. How can I get this slide show to play within this post, instead of over in the side bar?
  2. How can I get my text to stretch a little farther across the screen. It's kinda scrunched up on the left.
Thanks for your help, everyone, as we get settled into our new web home :)

  1. Hey, Meryl! It's so good to "see" you in the blogosphere.

Regarding how to embed your slideshow from Picasa....in your right-hand bar, click "link to this album" button, then click "embed slideshow", highlight the HTML and select copy. Go back to your blog post, click the "HTML" tab at the top of your post, and then paste the HTML code from Picasa into the body of your post. You should then see your slideshow once you click back over to "compose".

If you have any questions, just email me. ;-)
