He is RISEN!

What a beautiful Easter Day!

It's been a while since I posted, so I'll catch you up. Our trip to Alabama was great! I had so much fun with the girls and meeting Grant and Mary Tyler. What precious little babes! Rowen was a trooper with all the traveling. Here's a really neat purchase I made at the Fairhope Arts and Crafts Festival:

Two sweet ladies up in North Alabama make these and their website has a really neat function that lets you type in any word you want and you can see how your name will look: http://theartofletters.com/index.html

We returned home to a pretty rough month with both Rob and me both on service medicine. It's been rare to have the 3 of us home on the same night. It's rough, but next month will be much better; and the next month even better and the next month EVEN better! Then July will be wonderful and horrible all at the same time. We're taking a vacation down to Georgia for Alli's wedding and a visit with my family and THEN Rob leaves for Pensacola. It still hasn't hit me that he won't live with us for 6 months. A psychiatrist friend recently confirmed for me that denial can be a mature and healthy defense mechanism. I'll just keep telling myself that.

Last week we had the pleasure of a visit from my mom. We had a great time with her. I was off work one day while she was here and we shopped and went out to eat and just had a good ole' time. She kept Rowen for us so Miss Vicky had a much needed break and Rowen loved being with his G'mama.

This weekend Chris came to visit and it has been awesome to have him here for Rob's birthday! Saturday night we had Matt, Ashley, Lily and Emma O. over for a birthday dinner and we had a great time!

Rob's birthday present is an Iphone. He hasn't ordered it yet, but I'm sure once he gets it I won't see him for a few days. He has such a crush on all things Apple.

I am so thankful
every single day, that Rob chose me and I chose him and we're together because there is no doubt in my mind that God ordained it. What a good man I have been blessed with. My best friend, an amazing Daddy, a wonderful provider, my handy man, my computer geek, my brilliant doctor, my favorite person to make fun of (oh, he can give it right back...don't worry), my comedian, my soul mate. LY, rps.

Here's little man spending time with Grandpa Snow.

This morning me, Rowen, Chris and my dear friend Lily went to Tab for an amazing Easter service. Rob is on call at the hospital. How awesome it is that Jesus willingly stepped on that cross for you and me, undeserving sinners, and died for our salvation. The best part is, the fact that he died for our (ongoing) sins is just half of it! He longs for us to call on him for guidance!

" And what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for us who believe, as demonstrated in the working of his mighty strength which he exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in Heaven. " Ephesians 1:19-20.

Think of the power and greatness and strength it took for Jesus to conquer the grave. That power and greatness and strength is available to you and me as we go about our daily lives. Pretty cool.

Our children's choir opened the service with this beautiful song, and though I've heard it many times before, to hear these precious little ones singing it just brought tears to my eyes.

Everyone needs compassion
Love thats never failing
Let mercy fall on me

Anyone needs forgiveness
The kindness of a Saviour

The hope of nations

Saviour, He can move the mountains
My God is mighty to save
He is mighty to save
Forever, author of salvation
He rose and conquered the grave Jesus conquered the grave…

So take me as you find me ; All my fears and failures; Fill my life again
I give my life to follow
Everything I believe in
Now I Surrender
I Surrender…

After church, I worked in the yard, which is one of my favorite things to do. I always have several ongoing projects, which may take several months to finish, but I delight in knowing its started and its there, waiting patiently for my time to finish it. I started planting a garden today, complete with squash, tomatoes and cucumbers. How exciting! Maybe nothing will even come of it, but it was fun to do. I love our backyard. I was afraid when we bought the house the city feel of the yard would bother me (you can see everyone else's house and its a pretty small back yard), but I've come to appreciate it as quaint and we just love spending time there. Here are a few reasons I love it...

Thanks, Gigi, for these beautiful bulbs!

Zucchini!

Happy Easter!
