How to drink orange juice to the glory of God

Chapter 5 in John Piper's Pierced by the Word:

"Sin is leaving God out of account in the ordinary affairs of your life."

This must be part of that dance with God with Donald Miller talks about in Prayer and the Art of Volkswagen Maintenance:

"Life is a dance toward God and the dance is not so graceful as we might think. For while we glide and swing our practiced sway, God crowds our feet, bumps our toes and scuffs our shoes...He lowers his head and whispers, 'You will dance to the beat of Amazing Grace or you will not dance at all', so we learn to dance with the one who made us and it is a taxing dance to learn. But once learned, don't we glide. And don't we sway. And don't we bury our head in his chest. And don't we love to dance."

Wow. Yet again, I have a lot of work to do.

p.s. maegan, ilovethebook! xoxo!

  1. I COULD work at the hospital, and I planned on it, but it's all GS and I've applied for ten positions online and heard NOTHING. And I also appealed to the board of nursing to get my lisence transferred to Guam when we got here IN MARCH and I've still not heard anything. And now that I'm OBVIOUSLY pregnant, no one would really hire me anyway, you know? And even if they did, it would be pretty difficult logistically. I'm basically a singe parent with three toddlers. Warren can't go to the kids' school, and the kids won't want to go anywhere that would take Warren. So I'm sort of stuck. But this is what I signed up for- we knew when we did this whole back-to-back kids thing, I probably wouldn't be able to work. Hopefully when we get back to the real world I can find some sort of home infusion therapy job- that would be best. Or we could just come back to Norfolk and I'll work in the AIC :) And if all else fails...I could do labor and delivery somewhere. Sigh. Let's hope it doesn't come to that.

Not sure what to say about the helmet...at least he's safe? My friend's kid wears a sweatband 24/7 so that might make you feel better...
