Summertime

We are swimming here in Virginia in this sweltering heat and humidity but we are really enjoying the summer! Finally getting around to doing some fun things that have been on our list for a while!

We went out to Pungo, a rural farm community in Virginia Beach, to pick blueberries and blackberries.

Dirt + Blackberries

We enjoyed downtown Town Point Park, complete with a brand new splash pad.

Water, meet Nose.

Rob, unashamed of his mad hula skilz.

Passing the legacy on to Rowen (he has given up on me!)

Rob and I have started doing a little bit of running. The Tidewater Striders running club has fun runs at the Botanical Gardens on Tuesday nights. Though I was sure I would die, I have completed 2 (they're only 2 miles, but still...it's HOT!). At the first race, I felt like I had shown up to the Tour de France on a tricycle. These people are real runners with real running clothes and real running personalities! Whatever, it was fun.

I coughed a lot after one of our first runs and Rob listened to my lungs to see if I was wheezing (which I have NEVER done, ever in my life) so Rowen decided he'd listen, too...

To everyone...

We're headed to NC to see Rowen's Godmama and Godpapa, Katie and Adam, this weekend and can't wait to congratulate them on their upcoming bundle of joy due in September! Then, next week, we're headed down to Myrtle Beach for a getaway with my family! Super excited!

Have a great weekend!

  1. Of course we are friends! I see your comments, but I'm usually reading them on my phone while I'm stuck in traffic, so I can't comment back. And I usually read your blog in traffic too, so that makes it tough to comment. Then, by the time I get home, I've forgotten everything anyway.
I miss having great neighbors! I'd settle for a neighbor who says "hi" every now and then. We really took it for granted when we lived down there, and seeing all your pics REALLY makes me miss it! Sniffle.
Are you finished with residency? Or at least on your last year? I can't remember how long it's been. Seems like I've been here for seven years, so you should be chief of staff by now :) And, more importantly, are you reading any good books? I'm reading something that a friend all but DEMANDED I try, and I hate it. SO boring! So looking for an excuse to get out of that one.
Anyway. Here's my vow to keep in better touch. And get some pics of Aimee's baby on your blog for me!!!
