Thanksgiving and other adventures...a little late

We've had a busy few weeks!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving here at our house. We welcomed Chris, Cindi, Shannon, Steve and a buddy from Rob's work, Mike. It was a feast!

We had a lot of fun, but Rowen was the big winner of the day...he got to wrestle with Grandpa--his all time favorite thing to do!

And play baseball!

Last weekend was Sally's wedding. I've known for about a year that I would be decorating her reception and I've been super excited! It was at the Williamsburg Winery and everything was just perfect (not because of me!). The decorations were lots of fun and lots of work and I sure wish I had a picture to show you. Alas, the only picture I had time to take the whole day was this one I took just as we loaded the Tahoe before leaving our house.

Oh yeah...we bought a TAHOE! I really love it! The Jeep needed a serious break. It's been so good to me, though. It has 220,000 miles on it! I bought it all by myself after graduating from college and it has taken me through some good years.

Here's Lady getting ready to drive us away from Alabama
on the day I moved to Virginia

So, no pictures of the Tahoe today. (Mostly because I haven't taken any!) But also, in tribute to the Jeep. Man, I love that Cheri-kee :)

Rowen says some pretty sweet and hilarious stuff these days, so we thought we'd share.

The other day I figured something out on the t.v. for him and he looked at me and said, "Mama, you are a genius."

Then we were driving somewhere in the car the other day and he said, "Mama, you are my sunshine."

I love that little boy!

He also frequently says, "You've got to be kidding me" and although he probably has no idea what this means, he sometimes uses it in context and it is hilarious!

Of course, he says other less sweet things sometimes, too. Like "No thanks" when I tell him to put his toys away or come downstairs. Oh well. Even that's kinda cute ;)

We were in the restroom at Chick-fil-A the other day and someone came into the stall next to us. Rowen was on the potty and exclaimed, "Look, there's someone's feet." I agreed. Then he said, "Those are BIG DUCK FEET, Mama!" I couldn't help but laugh.

Also, if anyone's wondering, we've been thinking about baby names!

Harper Mae
or
Mary Blake

...
We're having A LITTLE GIRL :)

  1. Oh yea! I'm so excited you're having a girl! Now, if I was having a boy, I wouldn't be speaking to you. But since I'm pretty confident, I'll be happy for you! I like both your names, but I think Harper and Rowen sound cute together. Can't believe you're thinking of names, I was having a few contractions the other day and the first thing that popped into my head was "I can't go into labor, I don't have ANY names picked out!" We named Ava about two days before we got to the hospital.
As usual, your pics make me miss Virginia so much. How are the people in our house? As cool as us?
