Thanksgiving in Georgia

It's January...so quite naturally now I'm writing about Thanksgiving :)

My Granny has a big family event every year for Thanksgiving with all of our cousins and aunts and uncles from near and far. We also visited with my Daddy and his family. It was such a treat! Cousin Sheila, how are you not in any pics this year?!

We were actually at home on Thanksgiving Day because I worked, but we made the most of it! (You know, taking posed pics and what not...)

Then we headed down to GA for farm life!

Cousins! Maryblake, Rowen, Karson, Colton, Harper, Olivia, Walker and Leah :)

Our Georgia visit was awesome, as usual. But we were up to a lot as 2013 came to a close. We also celebrated our first Marine Corps Birthday Ball. It was a lovely evening in Savannah celebrating with some our our favorite friends!

The token military ball pose--ha!

Two of my saving graces...Erica and Kirsten

We also (finally) visited Coastal Discovery Museum at Hilton Head. We're trying to knock a few "must-see" items off our list before our time in Beaufort is up and this was a goodie.

Sadly, early December brought tragedy for our family. My cousin Mike Pollard passed away leaving 3 beautiful daughters and a host of family and friends who love him dearly. He was both a teacher and a preacher. It was a treasure to look back over his Facebook page as I read the posts of people who were led to Christ by him. There were at least 11 people in the little bit I read. And I know there were many more. Who among us can say he has been a part of that many people coming to Jesus? What a gift he was to us! I am so thankful to have known him.
