The Charleston Race

A while ago before I found out I was pregnant, I set my sights to run my first half marathon in Charleston. That would be a really big deal for me because I basically don't like running at all. But I LOVE the way you feel when you finish a race. Then we got pregnant. And some of my girlfriends were already running and I didn't want to totally bail so I signed up for the 5k. I assumed I'd walk the whole thing--which woulda been fine with me--but I actually ran about 2.5 miles of it. I was pretty jazzed. I was equally jazzed about the responses of the half marathon runners to my signs! Mostly the guys laughed at the "run faster..." sign but one girl teared up when she read "you are amazing!" and it made me so emotional! In a good way.

Me (with the chinky blue medal!), Angeline, Sarah, Olivia, Stacy, Erica and Anna
